We deal with the current status of teachers' autonomy in the Slovak Republic and in some European countries. We clarify obtained information from the perspective of three concepts of professional autonomy of teachers created by Magnus Frostenson (2015) the professional autonomy on general, collegial and individual level. In relation to these concepts we are looking at autonomy of Slovak teachers specifically after impact of curricular reform in the Slovak Republic. The article presents partial research results about Slovak curriculum reform (2008) with an emphasis on teachers' self-perception. After that year, methods and forms of school work changed in some way, but aims and content remained unchanged. The school reform came in 2008 with the legal obligation to create school curriculum. The paper presents several results of a questionnaire research about the perception of the old and the new model of curriculum. The research was performed on a sample of nearly one thousand primary school teachers in Slovakia. The paper presents an interesting statistical analysis and visualization showing a number of critical views about the nature and development of the school curriculum. The sample included 45 students in the 1st and 45 students in the 2nd year of graduate study at Faculty of Education at University of Matej Bel in Slovakia. Data were obtained in autumn 2014 and 2015. Observation, content analysis and descriptive statistics were used. The results showed that investigated relation existed, but was poor. Strength of relationship increased subsequently after intervention exercises in subject didactics in the 2nd year of study. Students in the 2nd year of study more often worked with elements of educational environment than in the 1st year. The data reflected students' own separate choice of elements of educational environment without influence of their teacher. Disruptive behavior and lack of (self) discipline can cause significant time losses during lessons. It is a result of poor classroom management being the essential condition for a quality education. The objective of the project is, through research analysis of the current conditions of the issue in our country and abroad, to find and implement the optimum model of discipline management regarding classroom management, which would through the implementation of optimum preventive measures and leading to (self) discipline improve and increase the efficiency of education in classrooms at primary school. In the paper we present preliminary results and describe the most frequent inappropriate behavior in the primary Slovak and Dutch classroom.
