Le marqueur discursif évidemment et ses traductions en roumain et en slovaque / Lucia Ráčková. -- This article examines the values of the discourse marker (DM) évidemment by means of a comparative analysis of the usage of the French term évidemment used in Butor’s novel L’Emploi du temps (Passing time) and its Romanian and Slovak equivalents in the Romanian translation of this novel Petrecerea timpului by M. Vazaca as well as the Slovak translation Bludisko času by M. Jurovská. The question is whether the DM is only a simple articulator of the information or whether, on the contrary, it carries modal values. The semantic and pragmatic analysis of the term and its translational equivalents demonstrates their evidential value and their epistemic modality. We conclude that (DM) évidemment and its Romanian and Slovak equivalents are at the crossroads of the certain and the probable.
