Nevertheless, we still have to consider state as one of the main objects of reference, which are present in most of the current debates in social sciences. Despite the current awareness that the concepts of power and space are more meaningful in the political geography than the concepts of state, many questions can be answered only by understanding the relationship among power, state and space. That is still indicating their ongoing analytical meaning. Several authors apply a critical approach to the current understanding of the concepts of geopolitics and security and reject the thinking on geopolitics through the classic Cold War prism as a neutral and objective method for mapping the global space.
