AnnotationThe research focused on the issue of physics subject matter in higher education of primary education teachers. It explained students’ misconceptions on an example of the subject matter about a pulley. The aim of the research was to study on a sample of 79 students the effectiveness of the designed IBI in terms of elimination of misconceptions in favour of scientifically acceptable concepts. The main research methods were the pedagogical experiment and content analysis of students’ answers. Results showed that students’ misconceptions changed statistically significantly in the post-test against the pre-test in favour of scientifically acceptable concepts. Thus, the research results may be an incentive for branch didactics of science subjects.

AnnotationYoung children (5-6 years old) are building strong foundations in language and music. Their phonemic awareness is developing, allowing them to identify and manipulate sounds in words. Vocabulary is rapidly expanding, with children learning new words and their meanings. Musical abilities are blossoming, with many children enjoying singing, keeping rhythm, and exploring instruments. However, there can be variations in these skills and even gender differences in performance on some tasks. This study investigated the phonemic awareness, vocabulary and musical abilities of 5-6-year-old children. We explored potential correlations between these domains and any gender differences in performance. Forty children (20 girls and 20 boys) from three kindergartens (two urban, one rural) were tested in June 2022. Three assessments were employed: Eľkonin's test of phonemic awareness, COWAT speech fluency test (vocabulary) and Bentley's test of musical abilities. Pearson's correlation coefficient analyzed relationships between the tests. A positive correlation was found between all three tests, suggesting potential links between phonemic awareness, vocabulary and musical abilities. Interestingly, girls outperformed boys sig nificantly in both Eľkonin's and Bentley's tests. Within Eľkonin's test, children achieved the highest scores in syllable synthesis (subtest No. 4) and the lowest scores in syllable deletion (subtest No. 10). This study suggests a connection between phonemic awareness, vocabulary, and musical abilities in young children. Additionally, it highlights potential gender differences in specific aspects of these domains. Further research is needed to explore the cause of these findings and their implications for e arly childhood educatio

AnnotationThe international legal framework for arms control fundamentally impacts global security. However, this vital institution is currently dysfunctional, which, in conjunction with the war in Ukraine and the crisis in US-Russia and NATO-Russia relations, is reviving the threat of the European continent becoming a zone of uncontrolled deployment of Russian and US weapons and weapons systems. The collapse of the arms control mechanism has a high potential to spark an uncontrolled arms race across Europe, with potential global spillover. Arms control is a unique idea promoting sustainable international security. It is based on the premise that numerous reductions in weapons and weapons systems by world actors will reduce the likelihood of the outbreak of armed conflict. Arms control is a complex process implemented through international treaties and agreements. They aim to reduce the force potential of a state actor to a level that is only necessary to ensure internal security. This article aims to analyze the impact of the arms control system on sustainable European security and its role within the international order. The basic premise of the arms control process is the principle of equal security, which is based on the sovereign equality of states expressed in the UN Charter. Arms control is always based on the parties' objectives and is therefore not considered an end in itself but is consistently used as part of a process aimed at sustainable international security and building sustainable peace.

AnnotationHlinka's Slovak People's Party was one of the most influential Slovak political parties of the first half of the 20th Century. From its beginnings until the official ban (1905-1945), it won democratic parliamentary elections in Slovakia three times (1925, 1929, 1935) and was the only permitted Slovak political party in the fascist-Axis Slovak State (1939-1945), a vassal state of Hitler's Germany. Party's relevance predestined it to comment and participate in the key political events of the 1920s-1940s period and, thanks to the party's authority, to actively influence them. Slovakia's relationship with its southern neighbour, heavily marked by the shadows of the past, belonged to this spectrum as well. The article provides an overview of the turbulent dynamics of the Hlinka's Slovak People's Party's relation to Hungary and Hungarian politics, identifies the trajectory, and the core milestones of Slovak-Hungarian relations impacted by the party led by Catholic priests Andrej Hlinka and Jozef Tiso.
