AnnotationVýchodiská: Rakovina pľúc je jedným z najbežnejších zhubných nádorov na celom svete. V industriálnom svete incidencia a prevalencia rakoviny pľúc narastá. Pri patogenéze zohráva významnú úlohu vplyv životného prostredia a genetika. Dôležitú časť liečby zahŕňa rehabilitácia pacientov. Rakovina pľúc vedie ku vzniku fyzického impairmentu u pacientov. Je spojená najmä so zníženou fyzickou funkciou pacientov a zníženou kvalitou života pacientov. Rehabilitácia pacientov napomáha stabilizovať priebeh ochorenia a vedie k väčšej viere u pacientov čeliť náročnému ochoreniu. Dôležitú časť rehabilitácie zahŕňa funkčné vyšetrenie pacienta. Na vyšetrenie je možné využiť štandardizované testy ako 6minútový chodecký test, „chair stand“ test, „timed up and go“ test, doplnené o vyšetrenie svalovej sily a hmoty. Medzi základné terapie rehabilitácie patrí cvičenie. Pri cvičení sa využívajú základné formy ako aeróbne cvičenie a silové cvičenie. Rehabilitácia pacientov s rakovinou pľúc je spojená so zlepšením symptómov únavy a zlepšením kvality života pacientov. Ďalším významným benefi tom je zlepšenie funkčnej schopnosti pacientov. Cieľ: Hlavným cieľom článku je zhrnúť rehabilitačné možnosti liečby u pacientov s rakovinou pľúc.

AnnotationBackground: The cause of gynecological tumors is multifactorial. Risk factors include higher BMI and lack of physical activity. Gynecological oncological diseases are associated with loss of function due to the pathophysiological eff ects of the disease, treatment, and also mental stress in patients. These problems lead to greater rehabilitation demand of patients. Rehabilitation aims to help the patient to achieve the best possible level of functional status, to foster independence, to improve acceptance of the disease, to improve patient fatigue and improve the quality of life of the patients It is essential to focus the rehabilitation examination on several factors associated with impaired function, such as impaired cardiovascular and pulmonary function, urinary incontinence or psychological or psychological distress. The pleiotropic eff ect of rehabilitation can also be used in pain relief, improvement of chemotherapy tolerance, in the treatment of lymphedema and in the improvement of pelvic fl oor muscle function. Purpose: The main aim of this paper is to summarize available options for rehabilitation after gynecological oncological diseases.

AnnotationAbstract View references (63) Breast cancer remains the most common cancer among women. Physical activity is crucial for the prevention of the disease. The diagnosis of breast cancer, the process of the disease and its treatment significantly reduces the level of physical activity, well-being and quality of life. The most widely used rehabilitation therapies include physical exercise, manual techniques for pain relief and physical therapy. One of the main goals of rehabilitation involves improving the quality of life. Rehabilitation for breast cancer includes three parts: preoperative, perioperative and postoperative parts. The main kinds of exercise include strength and aerobic training. An important element of comprehensive rehabilitation is focusing on the increase in the range of movement in the shoulder on the operated side. The literature also indicates an improvement in the quality of life and fatigue in rehabilitation of breast cancer patients. © 2021, Czech Medical Association J.E. Purkyne. All rights reserved.

AnnotationIntroduction: Cachexia is defined as a syndrome of multifactorial etiology characterized by severe weight loss, loss of muscle and fat mass and increase in protein catabolism. Cachexia in cancer is a predominant and debilitating syndrome. Sarcopenia is a primary disease of older age characterized by loss of muscle mass due to the aging process. Sarcopenia can be defined as a combination of low muscle strength and muscle mass. Sarcopenia often occurs in the geriatric population. Method: This is a review article, search for articles in Pubmed database, JCR and Cochrane database was made with the following keywords: “sarcopenia”, “cachexia”, “rehabilitation” and “exercise”. Result: The main therapy of rehabilitation is exercise. Exercise can reduce the inflammatory response induced by cachexia or sarcopenia. Exercise can support autophagy. Physical activity can slow down weight loss and improve skeletal muscle function. Adequate strength exercise and aerobic exercise are important benefits for patients. Strength and aerobic exercise increase muscle strength and function and represent an important treatment strategy for cachexia and sarcopenia. Conclusion: Rehabilitation treatment is an important part of treatment for patients with cachexia and sarcopenia.

Annotation© 2020, Czech Medical Association J.E. Purkyne. All rights reserved. The prevalence of cancer has been increasing. In cancer patients, quality of life and physical abilities are often impaired. Exercise is aimed at improving patient physical fitness and the symptoms associated with cancer and its treatment. During exercise, muscle cells release substances, referred to as myokines, that have a protective effect against oncological diseases. Regular exercise can influence the levels of cytokines IL-2, IL-6, IL-8, and TNF-a. Reductions in the risk of developing an oncological disease by performing physical activity can be explained by several mechanisms, which can be divided into direct and indirect mechanisms. People with increased physical activity tend to have more optimal BMI values and a lower incidence of intraabdominal obesity. Other direct mechanisms include the eff ect of exercise on the levels of insulin-like growth factor and vasoactive intestinal peptide. Epigenetic eff ects of exercise are also an important mechanism. Additionally, exercise also aff ects oxidative and antioxidant pathways, energy metabolism, and insulin sensitivity. Optimal physical activity reduces the risk of cancer and leads to improvements in cardiovascular health in cancer patients. It also optimizes of BMI values. In cancer patients, regular exercise also improves muscle strength and significantly aff ects quality of life. Exercise is an important therapeutic option for reducing the fatigue associated with cancer and can benefit patients by improving their condition in the preoperative and postoperative periods. Exercise also reduces the risk of complications associated with surgery and reduces the risk of injury.
