AnnotationThe paper is focused on peculiarities and the way of embodiment of the national concept of artistic creativity reflecting the connection between fiction and folklore, in the image word song. The analysis traces the relation of this image to lexemes language (mova), spirit (dukh), soul (dusha), land (ziamlia) and other. The dynamics of image development is based on the study of eight time sections and shows the tendencies towards intellectualization and accentuating the idea of folk tradition and national self-determination in the semantics of the word. This feature is typical for poetic works and journalistic writings by Yanka Kupala, one of the founders of Belarusian standard language, a national poet of Belarus. The topic of the paper is unfolded in the Slavic context by means of analogies and comparisons.
