Moreover, a lexicographical analysis and a gender-oriented research are also proposed. For this kind of study it is necessary to have access to spontaneous, free spoken conversations. Since in the opinion of the author such material cannot be found in the oral corpora that are available generally built from radio/TV programs or (semi-)structured interviews the source of the PUs for this research is conversations extracted from VyVoleni ('The chosen ones'), the Czech version of Big Brother. In this pilot study data obtained from the analysis of two hours of conversations are presented and discussed. Public work category AFC No. of Archival Copy 47053 Catal.org. The aim of this paper is to take a first step towards the question whether it is true not just that phraseology preserves the way a given culture understands the world (or understood it in the past), but if it works the other way round, i.e., if people using/knowing CFUs involving stereotypes – in this case, Czech idioms and collocations regarding nations and ethnic groups – tend to extend these stereotypes and attitudes beyond the linguistic sphere URL Link na zdrojový dokument Public work category ADM No. of Archival Copy 35386 Catal.org.
