Obsahy Hg vo vnútornostiach (ktoré sa však v prípade uvedených rýb nekonzumujú) sú podstatne vyššie (639,8 až 1431,5 μg Hg) ako obsahy v svalovine. The highest Cu and Mn contents in anthropogenic soil were described in Libiola and Caporciano whereas the highest Pb, Zn, As, and Sb contents in São Domingos. The anthropogenic soil in L’ubietová shows the highest Co contents. The area of São Domingos is the most acidified. There are important differences between the bioaccumulation of plants from individual deposits. Bioavailability of the heavy metals is generally independent of the pH values. The high Ca and Mg contents in soil are able to block the transport of heavy metals to the plant tissues. The bioconcentration factor values of all plant taxa, in all deposits, indicate a predominant strategy of excluders. Only Ag shows excellent bioconcentration ability. In L’ubietová, Pinus sylvestris has a strategy as an accumulator of Pb (2.43) and Zn (2.49); Pinus pinaster of Mn (4.97), Cd (1.85), and Co (5.62) and Quercus rotundifolium of Mn (3.54) in São Domingos. The Ľubietová Cu (Ag) is situated in the Ľubietová crystalline complex of Permian age which consists of greywackes, arcose schists and conglomerates. The probably volcano-sedimentary Cu-(Ag-) mineralisation, genetically connected with the basic, intermediate and acid Permian volcanism, was mobilised by granite intrusion during the Alpine orogeny. The economically main ore minerals were native copper, chalcopyrite and Ag-tetrahedrite. The mine was definitelly closed during in April 1915. The research define the main environmental risks (heavy metal distribution, their toxicity, pH/Eh conditions, migration of the potentially toxic elements and their release from dump-field material, as well as their sorption on natural sorbents, acidification risk, erosion etc.) in country components (soil/technogenic sediments, water, plants) and suggest the possible effective remediation solutions (e.g. water cleaning by permeable Fe0-barrier, moving dump-field material stabilisation on steep slopes etc.).
