Descr. články - journal articles Language English Country Slovak Republic Annotation The legal recognition and creation of a legal union of same-sex couples is an important human rights issue addressed within the right to private and family life, which is guaranteed by Art. 8 of the Convention. The level of cohabitation protection provided to same-sex couples is increasing in the European Union states, and today the Slovak Republic is among the last European Union states without any legal arrangement for same-sex couples that would be similar to the marriage of different-sex couples, while we are of the opinion that the legal absence of recognition of cohabitation of same-sex couples does not respect the human rights obligations of the Slovak Republic. In the legal state, for which the Slovak Republic in accordance with Art. 1 of Act no. 460/1992 Coll. The Constitution of the Slovak Republic, as amended, considers that human rights must be guaranteed, while it is necessary that the principle of equality of citizens of the state before the law applies, while this cannot be interpreted only with regard to possible violations of the law, but also within the framework of equal protection within the meaning of the law and at the same time in the same acknowledgment and respect of rights for all. In the rule of law, protection should not be provided only to the majority, but it is necessary that the interests of all citizens be protected, as long as this protection does not harm others. We also believe that if a certain right is granted to the majority, it should be a certainty for all, otherwise there is discrimination and at the same time disrespect for the codes that guarantee this. At the same time, discrimination against same-sex couples contradicts the declared model of a free and democratic society. However, the aim of the paper was not to provide answers to current problems, but above all to summarize the solved issues and at the same time stimulate a wider discussion about ongoing attempts at change. Descr. články - journal articles Language English Country Slovak Republic Annotation European Union legislation laying down rules for the dairy sector. The legislation defines the conditions under which milk and milk products intended for human consumption can be imported into the EU. Milk and milk products must come only from third countries that appear on the list of authorized countries. Establishments, where milk and milk products are produced, must be approved for export. The TRACES system is used on imports and the consignment must be accompanied by a certificate. This system ensures product traceability and prevents the introduction of diseases. An important role is delegated to the designated border control posts (BCPs) where the appropriate customs and veterinary inspections are performed by government institutions of the country. The European Union has adopted legislation to ensure the safety of food placed on the market in EU member countries. This legislation sets general hygienic requirements for food production based on the good manufacturing practice and the HACCP system. The criteria for microorganisms, chemicals, and applicable food additives are set. Also, the legislation contains requirements for product labeling. Part of the legislation concerns the common organization of the market in milk and milk products. These regulations contain rules for direct payments, subsidies, define the school milk system, etc. Specific legislation creates rules for organic bio food production, for production and labeling of products with the Protected Geographical Indication, Protected Designation of Origin, and Traditional Specialty Guaranteed. There is also legislation that defines the labeling of products intended for specific populations, e.g. gluten-free foods, lactose-free foods, etc. Areas not regulated by the legislation include the labeling of products with certification marks designed to highlight the suitability of food for religious purposes or quality certification.
