    AnnotationThis study explores the possibilities of using comics in kindergartens and generally in all types preschool institutions. The authors present a summary of the knowledge about comics, types of comics, and their application by preschool teachers. The study presents examples of particular work with preschool children (age of 4 to 6 years) supplemented by methodological support of didactic concepts. One part of the study is based on a presentation of specific techniques (technical, graphic and visual) that can help teachers to create their own comics. Comics are introduced in the context of the development of science education as one of the strategies in inquiry based science education. The teacher as a comic maker is an actor but children can create and complete the comics and therefore they enter actively into the didactic process.     Annotation© The Turkish Online Journal of Educational Technology. Enrolment of 2-year old children in preschool has generated disputes among professionals and parents in the Czech Republic. This study tests two hypotheses: (1) Preschool teachers who teach 2 year old children have higher scores on pedagogical beliefs in the care area than on other areas. (2) These teachers have higher scores on pedagogical beliefs in the care area than those who teach children of ages 3-6. Two samples of teachers from the eastern part of the Czech Republic were recruited: those who teach 2-year old children and those who teach 3-6 year old children. A self-rate questionnaire was used to assess the level of beliefs. The data revealed that teachers in both samples have very high level of pedagogical beliefs. Those who teach 2-year old children believe that care is the strongest component in their practices in classes (hypothesis 1 supported), however, their scores on care does not prevail over teachers who teach 3-

    AnnotationThis study presents the results of a year-long project of students in master's programme Preschool teacher training. This project focused on analysis and reflection on working with comics. Comics are a modern pedagogical strategy, which is starting to gain popularity in teaching nature study. It is used in research-oriented teaching, which develops psychodidactic concept of teaching. This study presents so-called conceptual comics, which help illiterate preschool children understand certain natural phenomenon.     AnnotationThe paper presents a holistic model of preschool, elementary school and high school teachers' training that is structured for novice teachers, expert teachers, and teacher mentors. This model is composed of 16 instructional modules of which each has a specific instructional aim in the professional development of teachers. The project was created thanks to the Fund for Education Policy of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic. It is implemented by the Faculty of Humanities at Tomas Bata University in Zlin since 2014. The authors present the partial outcomes of the project evaluation of the selected instructional modules.
