AnnotationThe article present the comparison of the Pb-isotope study of antimony-ores from important Sb-mineralization of Western Carpathian: from Tatric unit (Pezinok, Kuchyňa, Pernek, Dúbrava, Magurka, Lom, Trangoška, Jasenie, Kriváň deposits and occurrences), Gemeric unit (Helcmanovce, Grexa and Poproč deposits) and from Eastern Slovakian neovolcanites (Zlatá Baňa). The study is compared with results of previous investigations of affiliated galena mineralization. The lead is of a crustal origine. The lead from Taric and that from Gemeric unit (and Eastern Slovakian Neovolcanites) seems to be derived from different reservoirs

AnnotationNumerous occurrences and deposits of Sb-Au mineralization containing gold-bearing sulphides are described from an area of the Tatric Unit in Western Carpathians e.g.: Pezinok, Dúbrava, Jasenie, Nižná Boca, Vyšná Boca etc. It was shown, that arsenopyrite is the main sulphide mineral incorporating invisible gold in its crystal structure. Concentrations of invisible gold in pyrite are not as high as in arsenopyrite. Only if arsenic is present in the pyrite in amounts greater than 0.2 wt %, there is significant incorporation of Au in its crystal structure. Gold content in these sulphides ranges from zero up to n.100 ppm. The fine-grained types contain higher Au concentrations, by as much as an order of magnitude. This work has demonstrated that Au coprecipitated together with Fe, As and S during the arsenopyrite and pyrite crystallization and was incorporated in sulphide mineral crystals both as native gold and chemically bound gold. Although As and Au contents in arsenian pyrites and arsenopyrites vary from sample to sample, there is a positive correlation between Au and As. The covariance in As and Au indicate that they were transported by the same solution and that the same geochemical processes led to their removal from solution. Au is predominantly concentrated within As-rich zones of gold-bearing sulphides. Gold-bearing arsenopyrite and pyrite precipitated at the onset of the paragenetic sequence. They crystallized within a broad temperature range: 319 to 450 °C

AnnotationCarpathian and Alpine ore and non-ore mineralization. The massive sulphide, stibnite and other siderite as well as magnesite deposits. The age of these mineralization vary from the oldest massive sulfides (about 600 Ma) to youngest gold-silver-polymetallic mineralization of Central Slovakian Neovolcanites. The article discuss also the variable Pb, S, C and O isotope distribution of the mentioned different types of mineralization

AnnotationRecent design methods of reinforced retaining walls are based on several approaches at the earth pressure determination. Newer methods are developed to bring the design model closer to real conditions. The monitoring of the structures reinforced with the geosynthetics but shows some anomalies at wall displacements and reinforcement loads. A series of real structure monitoring and numerical modelling was involved to verify the recent design methods. This paper represents the results of these analyses aimed at the earth pressure due to the backfill of the wall and at the stress distributions along the reinforcement

AnnotationGabion walls bring convenient way to realize the retaining walls with high level of global stability and aesthetic value. The design methods are based on the exerted approaches for gravity walls without reflection that gabion blocks have some special characteristics that need to be take into account. The major difference is that the bolcks are not rigid bodies and therefore the area of affected loads has its limitations. This paper presents the results of parametric study of gabion walls aimed at the material characteristics of gabions, especially at the deformation properties, that are neglected in recent design approaches
