AnnotationThe mapping, research in archives and in the field within the territory of Smolník and nearby region resulted in the summary of the collections of ore samples (RYBÁR et al., 2017), the most important minerals and various types of artifacts formed the basis for the creation of mineralogical-deposit, alchemical as well as montanistic exposition in the attractive underground (catacombs) of Elizabeth’s house. The building currently belongs to the municipality of Smolník and the temporary operator (before handing over the expositions to the municipality) will be Geotour (Civic Association). In addition to the classic exhibits, the history of mining and the importance of Smolník will also be presented through modern audio-visualization technologies, 3D visualizations (Fig. 1) and holographic images (WEIS et al., 2016). The exhibition spaces and surroundings will also be used for the activities of educational projects, which will be aimed at schoolchildren and the young generation in general.

AnnotationThe park lake in the area of Smolenice chateau, the seat of the Congress Center of the Slovak Academy of Sciences Smolenice, has been suffering from acute water shortage for several years. Despite plenty of water from spring snow melting or spring rains, it will dry out every year in the middle of summer. The paper presents an evaluation of the results of surface geophysical measurements by non-destructive methods aimed at identifying the causes and hidden paths of water leakage from this water structure. By means of field reconnaissance, study of archival resources and the method of oral history, probable causes were iden-tified, and by application of the ERT (Electric Resistance Tomography) method, probable water leakage paths of the lake area were identified. The results of this survey can be used as a supplementary material for the purpose of designing a lake revitalization project. The location, availability and capacity of the pond also allow its use in the fire protection of the chateau
