Descr. príspevky v zborníku - proceedings papers Language English Country Spain Annotation The aim of this study is to highlight the possibilities of developing the work competences of psychology students acquired through alternative forms of work experience and to compare them with the competences acquired during the students' traditional full-time work experience. The research sample consisted of 39 psychology students (AMage= 25.3; SDage= 2.5; 8% men) who completed their psychology practicum during their undergraduate studies in the academic years 2021/22 and 2022/23. Of the 39 respondents to our research, 31 students completed a traditional practicum, 9 students completed an online counselling placement (SenSkype project), and 5 students completed a servicelearning practicum (some of whom completed all three forms of practicum during their undergraduate studies). Competency development was assessed by respondents using the Communication and interaction effect style questionnaire by Mlcak [1] and key competencies via the online tool V- skills for employability [2]. Statistical analysis of the perceived level of competencies acquired through classical full-time practice and alternative forms of practice by psychology students showed no statistically significant differences in the perceived level of competencies between students who had completed classical full-time practice and students who had completed alternative forms of practice. Thus, we can conclude that the two alternative forms of practice presented by us are equivalent alternatives to the previously established full-time psychology students' practice and develop students' competences and the classical practice. In conclusion, we can thus state that we recommend the alternative forms of practice presented by us to be used as proper alternatives together with the classical full-time practice of psychology students. The research sample consisted of 452 graduates of the second level of university studies. To map and analyze civic-mindedness, we used the Civic-Minded Graduate Questionnaire (CMG; Steinberg et al., 2011). At the selected university, graduates scored the highest in skills and dispositions and the lowest in behavioral intentions. Furthermore, we found that those graduates who volunteered during their university studies had statistically significant greater development in the areas knowledge, skills, dispositions, and behavioral intentions, as well as in CMG scale overall, than those who did not participate in volunteering. Our study showed that the CMG concept is usable in countries with different contexts of the development of the university environment and the idea of citizenship and can help map the level of civic-mindedness among university graduates. Descr. príspevky v zborníku - proceedings papers Language Slovak Country Slovak Republic Annotation Štúdia prezentuje posúdenie vzájomnej komplementarity troch dotazníkov emocionálnej inteligencie. Testovali sme konštruktovú validitu troch dotazníkov – Trait Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire – short form (TEIQue SF, Petrides, 2009; v slovenskom preklade Kaliská, Nábělková, 2015), Brief Emotional Intelligence Scale (BEIS, Davies, Lane, Devonport, & Scott, 2010) a Wong and Law Emotional Intelligence Scale (WLEIS, Wong & Law, 2002). Výskumný súbor tvorilo 267 respondentov (27.78 % mužov, AMage = 21.08, SDage = 3.30). Výsledky poukazujú na stredne silnú až silnú pozitívnu koreláciu medzi jednotlivými faktormi všetkých troch škál. Prvotné psychometrické overovanie prinieslo uspokojivé výsledky vzhľadom na konštruktovú validitu všetkých troch dotazníkov a zároveň ponúka priestor na ďalšie overovanie či štandardizáciu dvoch použitých metodík BEIS a WLEIS, ako aj ich (zatiaľ) vedecké využitie. Source document ICERI 2023 : 16th annual International Conference of Education, Research and Innovation : conference proceedings. S. 6957-6962. - Valencia : International association of technology, education and development (IATED), 2023 ; ICERI 2023 international conference of education, research and innovation Keywords emocionálna regulácia - emotional regulation emocionálne zručnosti Language English Country Spain Annotation The modern world challenges and demands (as the liquid age) place high demands on an individual´s personality and his/her effort to survive. To adapt to new social phenomena, such as online functioning, social networks communication or artificial intelligence massive introduction into our lives, increases the pressure on emotion stability (and emotion regulation) and at the same time an individual´s authenticity. University student´s emotion regulation training and facilitation is an inevitable need for 21st century adaptability skill. İme and Ümmet (2022) define emotion regulation as the ability to appropriately cope with life's difficulties and at the same time declare that the ability to regulate emotions has a positive effect on the psychological health of individuals. Authenticity as the ability to be oneself, to resist the pressures of the environment, is perceived as free expression of the real Self in everyday life including self-awareness and one's own emotionality knowledge (Kernis & Goldman, 2006) affecting one's behavior being in accordance with his/her own values, preferences and needs. The study aim was to emphasize the importance of university student´s emotion regulation support and development in the emerging adulthood and to search for its connection to the authenticity. The research group consisted of 99 respondents (Mage=28.4; SDage=10.4; 23.2% of men), of which 62.2% were university students. The rest of the group were adults (min age 25, max age 66, who were not university students). All respondents were from Slovakia. Emotion regulation was assessed by Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ; Gross & John, 2003) and authenticity by Authenticity Scale (AS, Wood et al., 2008). Data were collected online, by intentional and accidental sampling. The study results showed no statistically significant differences of emotion regulation and authenticity between the university students and a group of adults. There was no correlation between emotion regulation and authenticity for university students, however in the adult´s group there were statistically significant positive strong relation between suppression strategy from ERQ and self-alienation from AS (r= .64***) and statistically significant moderate relation between reevaluation from ERQ and acceptance of external influences from AS (r=-.34*) and self-estrangement from AS (r=-.44**). University students from the research sample have the same emotion regulation strategies and authenticity level as the adults, though, it seems these two constructs have not been internalized for the students yet, to be interrelated. The university students do not experience situations where they inhibit or modulate their emotional experiences as a situation of self-alienation (contrast between conscious experience and current experience), so their authenticity may not be manifested in emotionally contradictory situations and they may depart from their real self, i.e. from their own values, from objective information processing which can have a negative impact also on their mental health. Therefore, it is important to develop and facilitate both of these two abilities within university studies, not only from the point of view of mental health protection, but also to educate them how to be connected with their values, morals and independence.
