Descr. príspevky v zborníku - proceedings papers Language Slovak Country Slovak Republic Annotation Corporate environmental responsibility in business practice should focus mainly on limiting negative impacts on the environment, investing in environmental technologies and evaluating the environmental performance of the company. Within this context, it represents a constraint for many small and medium-sized enterprises, which represents an increased expenditure in its implementation, but on the other hand, it highlights the importance of ensuring sustainable management and, at the same time, brings economic effects in the form of increased efficiency and effectiveness of product production, growth in the competitiveness of the enterprise, employment, productivity and, ultimately, the financial performance of the enterprise, which can be considered as a source of sustainable competitive advantage. The article presents the results of its own research, analyses and evaluates the application of selected elements of environmental responsibility in small and medium-sized enterprises in Slovakia and identifies potential sources of competitive advantage for the enterprise. Keywords pyrolysis gasification environmental technologies waste Language English Country Czech Republic systematics 502 Annotation From 2015 onwards, the parameters of the end-of-waste status for waste-derived fuels are defined in the Slovak environmental legislation. These parameters were adopted with regard to the increasing number of pyrolysis and gasification technologies producing liquid and gaseous energy carriers from different types of waste. The aim of this article is to provide an overview of the extent of these end-ofwaste parameters for gaseous and liquid fuels produced from waste as well as the levels of threshold values defined for each of these parameters. The review also includes the identification of parameters which do not have threshold values established. The main part of the article is focused on the comparison of the values of these parameters available from the existing different pyrolysis facilities (only for liquid secondary fuels) as well as values of these parameters for both – liquid and gaseous fuels from upcoming pyrolysis facilities, (currently under development), with the threshold values established in the first part of the article. In the final section, problem parameters are identified (those, whose actual values most often exceed the threshold values defined in the first part of the article).
