Slovensko stredné Language Ukrainian Country Ukraine systematics 502 Annotation The quality of natural water in Banska Bystrica region, Central Slovakia was researched by determination of some physical and chmical water characteristics (temperature, pH, concentration of heavy metals Ni, Cd, Pb, Cu, Fe and mn) and levels of high toxicity by means of using Daphnia magna Straus as test-objective. The fact of high over limited concentration of Cu in the surface water and Cd in the underground water was detected in the researched region along wiht estimation of high toxicity levelsw for selected water sources.
