A manager is a creator of the necessary qualities for the business. His personal qualities and knowledge enable continuous improvement of the processes in the enterprise. For the manager, it is important to know his strengths and weaknesses, as well as be aware of his own reactions. A manager needs to have knowledge about causes of burnout, and how to avoid it. This paper describes the burnout syndrome of managers, which influences their working life, and last but not least, their private life. The authors point out the differences among the occurrences of the burnout syndrome with managers relation to gender. The main contribution of the paper is in its research part, which is composed of the analysis of the Maslach Burnout Inventory questionnaire, which was aimed at finding out the emotional fatigue, depersonalization, and personal satisfaction of managers.
