Due to the effects of new technology and globalisation on the hotel industry, there have been many changes in the last decade, including increasing consolidation and concentration and an object of the study is the Slovak hotel industry. The subjects of the study are hotel companies which can achieve many competitive advantages in comparison with independent hotels. The aim of the paper is to analyse the structure of hotel capacity in the Slovak Republic with focus on hotel companies, its development and change of amount and conditions.
