The paper analyses secondary data from Register of museums and galleries in Slovakia and data from Slovak National Museum about performances of museums in the period from 2009 to 2014 by descriptive statistics. The analysis confirms uneven attendance and low revenues of museums from its own activities. Five most visited museums makes up 30 % of total attendance. Share of own revenues on total revenues of museums is in average only 15 %. In the foreground is therefore a complex product that can satisfy the primary and secondary needs of museums visitors, and thus brings additional revenues.
