AnnotationThe book review is focused on Martin Pleško´s monograph Les femmes, le français et la francophonie. La féminisation linguistique en Belgique, en France, au Québec et en Suisse (Women, French and francophony. Feminisation of Language in Belgium, in France, in Quebec and in Switzerland). The book is for teachers, academic staff, managers and the others who want to express themselves in French respecting linguistic equality. Its aim is to fill in gaps of writings in French language of this issue, especially in Central and Eastern Europe. It consists of three parts devided into ten chapters. The review tries to open the main questions of the subject and to shortly present the research and its methods elaborated by the author. The problem of gender and, not only, of creating names of professions in French is very interesting because there is no regular or uniform suffix to produce them.
