AnnotationThe linguistic image of the world (LIW) is a creatively conscious and axiologically differentiated set of individual linguistic images, which are hierarchised and structured in the framework of a certain type of texts. Folklore texts embody the traditional linguistic picture of the world, broadcast in a complex genre system based on the differentiation of prose and rhyming speech, on the size of texts and the practice of situational inclusion of some texts in others (riddles within fairy tales). The LIW intersects with the linguistic picture of the world (LPW), first of all, in the linguistic basis of the reflection of reality. These two fundamental concepts differ in the ways and degree of emphasizing / generalizing / interpreting of the extra-linguistic reality by linguistic means. The image is connected with the linguistically creative identification of the most essential, value-laden aspects and objects and with their portrayal in characteristic and typical details, while the picture presupposes linguistic embodiment in connected images, arranged in relation to each other.
