    AnotáciaOn August 18, 2019, Ing. Július Burkovský, forester, nature conservationist, publicist and historian celebrated his jubilee 80th birthday. He was born in Banská Bystrica. Graduated from the University College of Forestry and Wood Technology (now Technical University) in Zvolen. Until 1965 he worked at the Muráň Forest Enterprise. Since 1965 he worked at the Forest Management Planning Institute (Lesoprojekt) in Zvolen. From 1973 until retirement (2004) he worked in nature and landscape protection organizations in Banská Bystrica. He was actively involved in the preparation and establishment of several protected areas in Central Slovakia, in carrying out inventory research, creating and implementing special protection regimes, resp. care programs, as well as designing nature trails. Július Burkovský is the author of several book publications and about 500 works and articles. We would like wish Ing.
